I preferred Fred Thompson for the GOP nomination. Call me a Fred Head.
The other Fred Heads, the serious activists who don't just occasionally write a tiny blog, have announced a new coalition, Conservatives for the Advancement of the Reagan Coalition.
The presidential campaign this year won't be pretty. As far as I'm concerned, we can kiss good-bye to any hopes for decent members of the U.S. Supreme Court, regardless of whether the new president is McCain, Clinton or Obama. McCain is a contrarian who likes to poke the conservative movement in the eye. This might change if the left beats up on him badly enough during the campaign, but I'm not keeping my fingers crossed.
Conservatives need to work harder and to work local, and to get their (our) act together.

Fiddler:
If you REALLY mean that (Conservatives need to work harder and to work local, and to get their (our) act together), then puh-leeeze check out Newt's American Solutions initiative. It's the only thing I see on the horizon that is even remotely encouraging to those of us of the traditional conservative persuasion.

Hard work? Getting my act together? Joining some initiative or coalition? I thought I was entitled to a constitutional government. ;)
